Compliance & Rupiah Sovereignty
Supporting the Indonesian Rupiah, Supporting Indonesia
Xepeng is designed to support Indonesia's national payment system while upholding the principle that the Indonesian Rupiah is the only legal tender within the Republic of Indonesia, as stipulated under Law No. 7 of 2011 concerning Currency.
Xepeng does not replace the Rupiah, does not issue payment instruments, and does not independently perform fund settlement.
Xepeng operates as a technology infrastructure connecting international transactions with Indonesia's financial ecosystem through appropriately licensed partners.
Aligned with Bank Indonesia Principles
Xepeng's operating model is designed in consideration of the principles established under Bank Indonesia Regulation No. 23/6/PBI/2021 concerning Payment Service Providers.
Merchants using Xepeng receive funds in Indonesian Rupiah. Conversion and settlement activities are performed by authorized and licensed partners in accordance with applicable regulations.
Xepeng operates as a technology platform providing integration and processing for digital transactions. Under Bank Indonesia Regulation No. 23/6/PBI/2021, the provision of technology for payment transaction processing is categorized as a supporting service for the payment system.
Xepeng does not act as a Payment Service Provider (PJP).
All digital asset to Rupiah conversion and fund settlement activities are performed by partners holding the necessary licenses and authority under applicable regulations. Through this model, Xepeng helps expand access to international transactions without changing the status of the Indonesian Rupiah as the sole legal tender in Indonesia.
